Dress code for the concert is black and white with a splash of color. Some examples:
- Black slacks, black shoes, and a white dress shirt, with a splash of color such as a tie or a pocket square.
- Black dress and black shoes with a splash of color such as a scarf, sash, or belt.
Music Learning Tips
There are some very difficult songs this year. If you are wondering the order to tackle them in, I think the difficulty generally goes as follows:
- Most Difficult
- I Can’t Believe That You’re In Love With Me
- Mostly difficult for harmony parts. There are only 2 verses, repeated 4 times with different harmonies and transitions each time. Requires a close study to remember the order of the different repeated sections.
- Burnin’ the Roadhouse Down
- Wordy and fast
- I Can’t Believe That You’re In Love With Me
- Difficult
- Fun and Fancy Free
- Some repetition and tricky rhythms
- Like I’m Gonna Lose You
- This song has a mistake in the tenor learning track. In measure 13, the word “gon-na” is sung a half-step higher than it’s written. This was noticed late in the learning period, the learning track’s notes still make chords (albeit less correct ones), it goes by very fast, and the track’s version sounds more natural to the ear, so we’ve decided it makes more sense to prefer what’s on the learning track.
- The learning tracks are not the most pleasing to the ear, but don’t underestimate it. There are a couple tricky rhythms. And don’t worry, it’s a lot of fun once you’re singing it in a quartet.
- Fun and Fancy Free
- Moderate
- Everyone’s Wrong But Me
- Just One of Those Things
- May I Never Love Again
- Roses of Picardy
- Many Tears Ago
- Easy
- Home on the Range
